How Our Program Works

Affordable, Enriching Courses for Every Curious Mind

The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) of Elkhart County provides stimulating and affordable short courses in many fields for community members. Courses are held in fall and spring, along with a free lecture series in midwinter. There are no tests or grades, no previous studies or degrees required — just the joy of learning.

Classes typically meet for one and a half hours, twice a week, for two weeks. LLI instructors are former teachers and other professionals who volunteer their time to teach in the areas of their expertise or special interest. Courses are held at Jennings Auditorium at Greencroft Goshen Community Center unless otherwise indicated. Some courses may require extra fees for supplies, transportation or tickets to special events.

Decide if you'd like a membership

As mentioned above, you do not need to be a member to register for courses. However, we certainly encourage it if you plan to take multiple classes with us.

As members, you will:

  • Pay an annual fee of $50. You will never, ever be auto-billed for this.
  • Receive a 50% discount on all courses for which you register.
  • Be placed on our mailing list to receive the latest and greatest news about our courses, programs, lectures, and discounts. Don’t worry; you can always opt out of receiving information!

If you’ve decided that membership is for you, you can purchase it on the membership sign-up page.

2

Select Your Courses

To find the courses you would like to attend, just visit the class page. On that page, you will find all of the classes that you can sign up for at this time. We’ll be sending brochures and emails out as soon as we have courses available. Remember, as we mentioned before, we list courses in both the spring and the fall. During the winter, we will post about our winter lecture series, which is free and open to the public.

There you will find a course description, meeting dates and times, and the location.

3

Visit the Online Store

You can follow the “Sign-up for courses” link on the home page and in the header of this website, and then select the class you want to sign up for. Or you can follow the sign-up link that is below the class description. You will be taken to the registration page. Follow the registration instructions.

4

Save the email receipt

After you’ve completed your purchase, you will receive an email containing your receipt. Please save this in your email or print it out. It will assist us in helping you, provided you would like a refund, have any questions about your account, or need support on any issues with your transaction.

5

Show up for class!

Now, after all of that, there’s only one thing left to do – show up to your course! As mentioned before, you can find the dates and times of your class meetings in your emailed receipt and on this website.
